Happy Friday, Keller families!
Our next PTA Meeting will be this Monday, October 11th at 7pm on Zoom. You will find the link for the meeting in this newsletter, on our Facebook page, and our website. You must register for the meeting to attend, so we can take attendance. We will be discussing PTA procedures and standing rules, going over committee reports, upcoming events, and hear reports from the Principal and Board of Education rep. I hope to see you then!
Late Starts are on most Wednesdays throughout the school year. Upcoming late starts: 10/13, & 10/20. NO late start on 10/27. School starts at 9:20/ 9:25am on late start mornings.
We are still looking for a few committee chairs and co-chairs this year. Opening's include:
A co-chair for International Fun & Food Festival (IFFF)
Two chairs for Silent Auction
One more chair for Performing Arts
Be a risk taker and contact Carie Hooker at president@helenkellerpta.net to learn more about these committees and how you can help the PTA and Keller community.
Room Parents Needed! Volunteering as a room parent is great to stay connected to your child’s classroom activities, get to know other parents, and be involved in the school. The following teachers still need a room parent:
- Raymer
- Kiser
- Ault
- Kirkwood
- DeWolfe
If you're interested in helping out, please email our Room Parent Coordinator, Lois Barr, at roomparentcoordinator@helenkellerpta.net.
Huskies Run: To ensure that all students have the opportunity to take part in the Run, and out of an abundance of caution, we have made the decision to postpone the Huskies Run. The new date for the Huskies Run will be Friday, April 29th.
We want as many students to be able to participate in the Run as possible, and by postponing until spring we have that opportunity to allow the state of the pandemic to improve.
Classrooms will still get a pajama day this fall if they reach their $1000 goal. The top fundraising class will still get a pizza party. The teachers from the top three earning classes will still get their special lunch. Thanks to your tremendous fundraising efforts, we have reached our school goal of $18k and Mrs. Dryden will be sleeping on the roof! AND for every $1000 raised over our goal, a teacher will join Mrs. Dryden on the roof! Mrs. Rahn will be joining Mrs. Dryden, and we could be adding more teachers to the roof if we raise even more money! This sleepover would happen in the spring, when there’s a better chance of families and students being allowed to gather to read Mrs. Dryden her bedtime story and then greet her in the morning when she wakes! We will be collecting donations until October 15th. Please turn in pledge sheets and cash/ checks by that date, if applicable.
If you need anything at all, please reach out to our Huskies Run Co-Chairs, Melissa Berry and Jessica Kammann at huskiesrun@helenkellerpta.net
We still have a week left of fundraising- register your child for the Huskies Run by visiting https://bit.ly/2021huskyrun
